Jamie Craft is a lifelong native of Dublin, Georgia where he spent his childhood hunting and fishing on his dad's farm. He is an alumnus of West Laurens High School where he excelled in academics and music while also competing in golf. Jamie was infused with the Christ Chapel DNA when his family began attending while he was a teen. Christ Chapel was in mobile ministry years and Jamie witnessed first hand, the servant hearts God uses to sustain ministry.
After high school Jamie attended Brewton Parker College where he competed on scholarship with the Men's Golf Team. While at Brewton Parker he met the love of his life and future wife, Megan. Two years later Jamie transferred to Georgia Southern University (HAIL SOUTHERN) where he continued college and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Jamie proposed to Megan pretty soon after graduating from GSU and landed a great job at a local bank back home in Dublin, Georgia.
Though accomplished and talented, Jamie longed for something more and came to terms with the emptiness inside his soul. After joining a local small group with other married couples, a godly friend of his revealed Gods love to him in scripture. It was then that Jamie realized his need for a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. On that day in June of 2016, Jamie received salvation through Jesus Christ!
Throughout Jamie's life, he has always played instruments and has, in one way or another, been involved with worship ministry teams. The Lord began to connect the dots of his life after a lunch conversation with Pastor Gregg Soles in the summer of 2018. God set a blaze in their hearts together about the possibilities of Jamie becoming Worship Pastor at CCD. After much prayer and visioning together, Jamie officially accepted the role and call as Worship Pastor at CCD in January 2019 and is now part of a predominantly bi-vocational staff at CCD.
Jamie's passion is using his gifts, as well as the gifts of others on his team to lead the body at CCD into the Presence of God though passionate, raw, and authentic worship. Jamie is a firm believer that what we experience on Sunday morning corporate worship should be an overflow from our private worship!
CCD is home to Jamie and his wife Megan and they serve with joy in any capacity that is needed. Jamie has so many new and exciting facets of life happening right now. In fact, after years of struggling to find fulfillment in the corporate world, Jamie decided that he needed a change professionally and wanted his career to reflect his passion of serving people in the community. Jamie is now blessed to be a Police Officer with the Dublin Police Department. Jamie and his wife Megan are expecting their first child in August, sweet Ruthie Jane! Worship is truly a journey full of life changing moments together in Christ.
Matt Taylor, along with the support of his wife Taylor Taylor, serves as the Children's Pastor of Christ Chapel Dublin. Matt is a longlife native of Dublin. He attended West Laurens High School, Middle Georgia College (Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education), and Georgia College and StateUniversity (Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education).
Upon meeting his wife, Matt and Taylor began attending Christ Chapel Dublin with his father-in-law, Jeff Daniel. Matt and Taylor felt an immediate connection to the family of Christ Chapel Dublin and the true, raw worship of our Heavenly Father. Shortly after beginning to attend Christ Chapel Dublin, Mr. Jeff passed away from cancer. Through the time of reflection and prayer that followed, God continued to point Matt and Taylor to Christ Chapel Dublin. After continued prayer and reflection, the couple truly felt Christ Chapel Dublin was where God intended to plant their family. Soon after, Matt and Taylor moved their letters from Poplar Springs North Baptist Church to Christ Chapel Dublin. After moving their letters, Matt began volunteering with the children’s department while his wife Taylor fulfilled a similar role to her dad as she helped with worship on stage. Together, Matt and Taylor continue to serve our church body and the body of Christ in the areas of kids and music ministry.
Matt believes that children are of the most precious gifts given to us by God. Being a parent to his son, Everett, and being a fifth grade teacher, serving children will always hold a special place in his heart. Matt has served children in the classroom for eight years, five spent at Susie Dasher Elementary and three spent at Southwest Laurens Elementary. Teaching and working with children is something he has always had a passion for, and strives every day to set an example for the children under his care to follow.
God has now called Matt to use his talent and gift of teaching from Him to serve as the Children's Pastor of Christ Chapel Dublin. Matt yearns to seek the opportunity to help children learn God's word, share and experience His love, and to seek His kingdom over worldly distractions. Matt has faith God is going to show up and show out at Christ Chapel and in the surrounding community in a big way, and he is both humbled and honored to be a part of such a special journey.
The 2020 Vision of our children’s ministry comes from Matthew 5:16 which states, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven." The children of Christ Chapel Dublin are striving to be a L.A.M.P. for those around them. They are striving to LOVE like Christ loves us, to ALWAYS see the good in people and situations, to MAKE an effort to talk to others about Jesus, and to PRAY consistently. May God richly bless you and your family as we all strive to be a light that brightens the darkness around us.
Matt & Suzanne Lake
Matt and Suzanne Lake, middle school sweethearts and both lifelong residents of Laurens County, were married in 2002. They both attended and graduated from Georgia Southern University where Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Suzanne earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. After finishing college, Matt and Suzanne moved back to Dublin to pursue business ventures. The Lakes are blessed to have five beautiful children, KB, Bennett, Keaton, Bowan, and Lynnox, who help to keep their calendar full and exciting. The Lord led Matt and Suzanne to Christ Chapel in the summer of 2013. They have always had a heart for missions, and through a series of God-ordained events, they were called to India in 2015 as missionaries and had the extraordinary opportunity of serving alongside and developing a lifelong relationship with a Pastor and his family there. They have never looked back, and have led and served with many others in local and foreign missions. In 2018, Matt and Suzanne were asked to serve as Missionary Pastors at Christ Chapel. They have a heart for serving others, and believe that Christ is often best experienced through blind obedience to His call on your life. They keep a great big “YES” in their spirits for anything Christ asks of them, even if they cannot see the end result. The focus of Matt and Suzanne’s ministry is centered around Romans 10:15, which states, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news.” Matt and Suzanne strive to create opportunities for others to be the hands and feet of Jesus, both locally and throughout the world, and they fervently believe that through those experiences their lives, and those whose lives they serve, will be transformed by the truth of the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.
